My Opinion On The Legendary CartCon1 Airsoft

So I was on a trip to Columbia, TN for the first weekend of June and before going I looked to see if there was any airsoft fields nearby and sure enough, 30 minutes away in College Grove, TN was the legendary CartCon1 Airsoft.

So this being my first trip to CartCon1 I wasn’t sure what to expect so I read the rules and watched some videos. But I couldn’t find out the field layout so I was going into it almost blind. But finally on Sunday, June 4th I went and put my stuff down and payed for my day pass which I was surprised to find that it was only $25.00 because even though it said that on the website I was expecting that it wasn’t including tax. But it was so that’s nice. Also they give you a wristband once you pay which is nice to see because since they do that nobody can just set there stuff down and play for free.

But after that I went back to my stuff and put my battery in my gun and went and got It chronoed. Also the chrono area also doubled as a shooting range which was cool. But once I got my gun chronoed they put a sticker with the date on it, on the magwell which is smart because then you can’t skip chrono. But after that I went and sat back down and waited for the first game. While waiting the refs will announce how long until the game which is nice. But when you do get on the field the refs will go over a few rules and then give you a briefing on the game then you go to your side and they make sure everyone is ready then they start the game.

As for teams you decide who’s team your on based on if you show up wearing green or black. I decided to wear black. But of course with CartCon1’s field being in a literal field and it being summer plus the fact that I was wearing black meant that it was hot. But CartCon1 Airsoft does their best to help with that by giving you a covered seating area via carports and fans. And they tell everyone to drink plenty of water so they don’t have a heat stroke and that they sell water.

But onto the field. The field is 12 acres and is sometimes halved if you they don’t have enough players. The bottom of the hill which is closest to the staging area has a city in the middle made of shipping containers and the red side has two towers and some buildings and a little forest with another tower in it. The blue side just has some buildings though. But on the hillside is some walls for cover. But on the top of the hill is a compound made of privacy fence panels with two semi trailers in it and some water totes and buildings in and around it. But if you want a detailed picture of the field you can watch my video: Sweaty Players At CartCon1 Airsoft (It Was Very Hot)

But back to the field function. The refs are amazing because they drive around on side by sides and look down from the shipping containers so they don’t miss really anything. And also their really nice and will make jokes and stuff so their not intimidating or anything. And the community is also great so with all of this in mind I give the field a 9/10 or 4.5 stars. The only reason I don’t give it a 10/10 or 5 stars is because I prefer CQB over outdoor fields so it’s just me being nitpicky. But I would recommend going to this field if you like outdoor fields and I would recommend going in winter if you can’t stand the summer heat. But either than that have a good day and goodbye.

Why I Like Airsoft Tactical

Hello Airsofters and today I will be talking about why I like Airsoft Tactical. Alright before I get started just know I have only played at 5 airsoft fields. Those fields in order being Insane Paintball and Airsoft (Chattanooga, TN), My Airsoft Field, Airsoft Tactical, Black Ops Paintball and Airsoft (Myrtle Beach, SC), and Insane Paintball and Airsoft (Rossville, GA). Also Airsoft Tactical is closest to me and as a result I’ve been 6 times. So take this with a grain of salt.

Alright so Airsoft Tactical is located at 1420 Armour Dr, Chattanooga, TN 37412. It is an airsoft store and CQB indoor field. The field is open Friday-Sunday and the store is open on Thursday-Sunday. The store is really cool and has some good stuff. But the field is what I am going to be talking about. The rules for the field are:

  1. Do Not Remove Safety Mask/Goggles For Any Reason
  2. Call Your Hits
  3. No Blind Fire
  4. Never Point Your Weapon Up
  5. Deadmen Don’t Talk or Signal
  6. No Physical Contact
  7. Do Not Move or Alter Anything on The Field
  8. No Climbing on Anything
  9. No Arguing
  10. No Foul Language
  11. No Face Shots With Lasers
  12. No Intentional Face Shots Unless It Is The Only Exposed Area
  13. No Arguing With Refs
  14. Report Rule Breaking To A Ref Immediately

Don’t break any of these rules because if you do then the ref will reinforce all the rules and especially the ones that were broken. But it’s the ref’s job to do that so don’t get mad at them. But as for the field I love it. Because the cover is layed out so that each team can use the cover and it looks awesome too. Also everyone there is nice. Also the game modes are fun and if you report a problem to the ref then they will do all they can to fix it.

So overall I would highly recommend going to the field if you are in the area. It is very worth the money and probably will be highly enjoyable. Also if you forget anything you will be able to just go get it from the store. So please go, it will be worth your time. But this has been Nehemiah Varnell and I will see you next time, goodbye.

My YouTube Channel

Hello I’m Nehemiah Varnell and I’m going to be talking about my YouTube channel. I’ve had my YouTube channel since August 15, 2017. But my first upload was on August 17, 2018. The video is titled Big wheel fun and is 8 minutes and 28 seconds long. It is unedited. But I started putting more effort into my videos on August 11, 2020. Recently I’ve been trying to do Airsoft videos on my channel but because of a house fire we had, I haven’t uploaded a video in a while.

But this year my goal was to reach 100 subscribers but I’m already at 102 so I hope to reach 200 subscribers. I also plan to try to upload a video in the middle of the month and at the end of the month. But I haven’t been able to do this since January. But I have recorded a new video that I hope to publish soon. I also will be playing airsoft soon so I’ll try to record that. But I am a little busy so I might miss one or two uploads. But if you have an idea for what you think I should do with my channel then please tell me. But that’s all I have to say today so goodbye.

My Opinion On Black Ops Paintball And Airsoft

Hello Airsofters I am Nehemiah Varnell and I am going to be talking about Black Ops Paintball and Airsoft. So the way I found this field started last year in September when I went on vacation with my family to Myrtle Beach, SC. We stayed for 8 days and before we went there I searched up some airsoft fields in the area. It turned out that there was one only 15 minutes from where we were staying. That field was Black Ops Paintball and Airsoft. So I brought my airsoft gun and on the last Saturday that we were there we went to the field and played airsoft. And as always, I recorded it. So if you want to watch that then you can here: Airsoft in South Carolina (Black Ops Paintball and Airsoft).

So overall I liked this field but just make sure to go only when they are open. Because me and my dad went there after they had closed to look at the field on Sunday around 6:30 P.M., and we knew the field was closed but we still just went to look around not to play on the field. But I guess one guy didn’t have a good day that day doing private matches or something. So he saw us and asked if he could help us while walking in our direction. He wasn’t nice about it, he said it in a gruff tone. But my dad just said we were there to look around at the field. But the guy kept walking and he just responded in his gruff voice with: “I only do walk-ons on Saturdays.” As he said it he walked past us and my dad started to respond but he cut him off with “I’m gonna close the gate in 5 minutes so hurry up.” or something like that I don’t remember. As he said this he also wasn’t even looking in our direction. He was just walking away.

So yea, that right there almost made me not want to go to the field. I honestly at that point would’ve rather gone to Airsoft Tactical. But we still went and it was okay. I say that because we went there at about 12:00 P.M. and left at about 2:00 P.M. and in those 2 hours we played a whole 2 matches. Because we had to wait 15 minutes between each game but it would always end up being about 20-25 minutes and also the guy at the check in didn’t give us wristbands at first so we had to go get them. But I liked that guy, he was nice about it and probably just forgot. But aside from the check in guy another person who was nice was the airsoft ref. But I also feel bad for the airsoft ref, because he has to chrono people, explain the game to people, and run the games. He doesn’t have help from any of the other staff. But one annoying thing is that the video for the second match was originally 20 minutes long, but we only played for about 8 of those minutes. So in the 2 hours we were there we played for a total of almost 25 minutes and waited for a total of about an hour and 35 minutes.

But as for the actual airsoft playing area, it is great. I mean they have shipping containers, large blocks, trenches, pallets, and more as cover. Also they have roads and as a centerpiece to the field they have a whole entire house which I think is 2 stories tall.

So I would say the airsoft field is great but the wait time between games is long and the staff aren’t the nicest people ever, but they are okay. But the overall field is good. I would give it a 7 out of 10. So if you’re in the area then I would recommend going. But of course this was only one experience so take it with a grain of salt. But I hope this was useful and you have a good day, but until next time goodbye.

My Untested Strategy For Capture The Flag At Airsoft Tactical

Hello Airsofters I’m Nehemiah Varnell and I am going to be talking about my untested strategy for Capture the Flag at Airsoft Tactical. So I have a strategy for bottom and top base. For this strategy I am going to assume you know the field layout of Airsoft Tactical. I’m also going to assume you have 8 people on your team (including you) for this strategy.

So I’m going to start with the strategy for bottom team. So you’ll need to divide your team into three groups, 1 defending group and 2 attacking groups. You will need to be in one of these groups. You’ll need at least 2 players in the defending group and of course their job is to defend the flag until the other flag is delivered. Then there needs to be an even amount of players in each attacking group (for 8 players you will need 3 players in each group). So group A will be the capturing group and will need to move fast as they have more ground to cover. Then group B will be the delivering group. But onto the strategy, when the game starts group A and the defending group will move together toward the bottom team flag. But the defending group will split from group A when they get past the tank and go to the flag.

Group A will continue up the ramp and turn left and go up the stairs into the killhouse. But when they get to a position where they can shoot up the ramp they will start firing if anyone is there as they keep running. They will do this until they enter the killhouse. If anyone is shot while they are mowing up then they will respawn and meet with group A at the top team’s flag. If a member of any group is shot the group keeps moving. But once group A gets into the killhouse they will move quickly to the back staircase and go down it. Be careful but go quickly. Once group A makes it down the stairs they will clear the top courtyard as they go through it. They will go out the first exit on the left and grab the flag.

This is where group B comes into play. Group B should have already been waiting at the top of the ramp suppressing the top team. So group A will slide or toss the flag to group B who will grab the flag and immediately run down into the bottom courtyard. The staircase close to the killhouse is the fastest way. Group A will follow group B and pretty much become part of group B. If the flag holder is shot then someone else will grab the flag and keep going. The group will continue until they reach the hole in the wall in the courtyard. When they reach it they will slide or toss the flag to the defending group who will place the flag with the other flag. If done correctly the flags will be together in less than a minute. Once the flags are together the whole team defends the flags.

If something goes wrong and group A reaches the flag and group B is not there then group A becomes group B. Also if group A never reaches the flag then group B will grab it. Also if the group reaches the hole in the courtyard and the defending group is not at the flag then all the other players become a human shield for the flag holder to get the flag to the other flag.

Now for the top team’s strategy. They will divide their team into 3 groups just like the bottom team. But of course their strategy will be different.

The defending group will immediately go defend the flag. Then group A and B will merge together and rush to the other ramp and go into the hallway. As they get to a point where they can shoot down the ramp they will do so if there is anyone down there. Also one player from group B will stay at the top of the ramp shooting down. But once the rest of the players are in the hallway the rest of group B will split from group A and go into the bank and shoot out of the bank at any enemy in sight. But group A will continue through the hallway and down the stairs. They will shoot down the hallway as they advance to the flag. Once they get down the hallway to the flag they will grab it of course and run back. Group B will also merge with them when they reach the flag and follow them back up the staircase and down the hallway. But when they make it out of the hallway and to the top of the ramp they will become a human shield for the flag holder and shoot at the enemy until the flag holder is safe. Once the flag holder is safe they will follow him until the flag is with the other flag. Once it is, the whole team will defend the flag. Except for group B, group B will defend the other ramp and shoot at any enemy in the hallway. If done correctly then the flags should be together in a matter of seconds.

Of course if group A is all shot before they get the flag then group B will become group A. Also if anyone in a group is shot the rest of the group will keep going. Also if the flag holder is shot then someone else will grab the flag.

Of course I’ve never tried this but I plan to. But if you try this before I do then please tell me the results. Also I hope you enjoyed this and I hope this strategy works. But this has been Nehemiah Varnell and I hope you have a good day and goodbye.

Why You Have To Get Hit To Get Better At Airsoft

Hello Airsofters I’m Nehemiah Varnell and I am going to be talking about why you have to get hit to get better at Airsoft.

Alright, I know there’s a lot of you who just sit in respawn and shoot at people and never get any kills. Because I was that way once. I mean just look at my video of my first public match: Playing With a T-Rex at Airsoft Tactical. I was terrible, but because of a comment on that video by Jacobpz28 about the guy at the 13 minutes and 42 seconds into that video I am so much better and so much more fun. The first part of the comment was: “Heck yea. The guy is right about getting out there and getting shot. You will become more confident…”.

So I took this advice to heart and when I went to South Carolina and played Airsoft I got 6 kills and I only played two matches (Airsoft in South Carolina (Black Ops Paintball and Airsoft)). Then I went back to Airsoft Tactical and got only 1 kill out of my 8 welts, but I had an amazing time. Then I continued to do this and in my latest video I got 13 kills on camera, which isn’t the highest number but it is pretty good (My Camera Lens Broke At Airsoft Tactical).

But getting hit a lot isn’t exactly what will make you better. It will help you a lot because you won’t feel as much pain because you’re used to it. But what will help the most is moving out. Also getting kills helps too because your being rewarded for playing and moving out will help you get more kills. But I will always know that I owe my Airsoft career to Jacobpz28 and that guy at the 13 minute and 42 second mark of my airsoft video.

But anyway in the second part of Jacobpz28’s comment he says “… play how you want to because it’s your money and if you wanna be more realistic and not run and gun then play it like that. It’s all about fun at the end of it all.” So I would encourage movement as you might enjoy it more but it’s all up to you. So maybe try it and have a good time and goodbye.

My Airsoft Field I’ve Been Making

Hello Airsofters I’m Nehemiah Varnell and I’m going to be talking about my airsoft field I’ve been making. I’ve been working on this field since January 24th, 2022. I started with my brother but now it’s just me and I get some occasional help every now and then. I played on it only a few times. But I call the field Coyote Airsoft.

Coyote Airsoft hasn’t been a daily project but since I started tracking my work on November 1st, 2022 I’ve worked almost 19 hours. Right now I can’t do much though because there’s too much brush on the ground from where we worked with a skid steer down there. But I hope to clear that and then start building cover. Of course I’ve had setbacks like just a few weeks ago some kids broke a bunch of stuff down there. That was maybe $100 in damage and 4 hours of work. But that’s to be expected.

Anyway, onto the rules I have for the field. I have 12 rules, they are:

  1. Always Call Your Hits By Raising Your Hand And Yelling: ‘Hit!’
  2. Full Seal Masks/Goggles Required. If Goggles Are In Use Your Ears Must Be Covered
  3. Masks On When On The Field Unless Otherwise Stated
  4. Never Remove Your Mask During A Game. If Someone Is Seen Without A Mask Then Yell ‘Cease Fire!’ or ‘Blind Man’
  5. Safety On And Mags Out When Outside Of The Field
  6. 380 FPS Maximum
  7. No Moving The Cover on Field
  8. No Blind Fire
  9. If You Are 3 Feet From Someone Yell ‘Bang! Bang!’. This Counts As A Kill
  10. Do Not Climb On Cover
  11. No Fighting, Cursing, Vulgar Language, Or Physical Contact Will Be Tolerated
  12. Biodegradable BBs Only

Of course the rules will probably change if the field becomes an official airsoft field. But the field isn’t an official airsoft field yet, but I hope to open it up as one, one day. But the most expensive part is the netting. I need a 16 foot tall net and 500-900 feet of it. Which is a lot. But I also have other things I need like tables and chairs. I need to get waivers too, which is a hard task because I don’t know where to get insurance from. Also bathrooms are hard because I could do a porta potty but how are they going to wash their hands? But I’ll figure it out. But if you’re reading this and you have an idea then please tell me. But also if y’all are interested in the field then tell me and maybe I could plan an event for players to try the field. But that won’t be anytime soon because I have to finish setting up the field.

Anyway I’ll also go over the games I have. I’ll add more as time goes on but currently there are 4. They are:

  1. Team Deathmatch
  2. Medic
  3. King of the Hill
  4. Invasion

And I’ll also go over how you play them. Starting with Team Deathmatch. Most people know how to play Team Deathmatch, but it’s where two even teams fight for a duration of time with unlimited respawns. As for the time of the games I would probably do 5-10 minute games but I’m not sure. The next game is Medic. Some people know how to play medic, but it is where, like Team Deathmatch, two even teams battle. But each team has a medic, the medic has infinite lives and has to tap the downed player 10 times to revive them. The medic is the only player who can respawn. Next is King of the Hill, even if you haven’t played airsoft you probably know what King of the Hill is even if you haven’t played it. It’s where people fight to control a point. In this case 2 even teams fight to control the repair shop. You have to respawn when you get shot. The final game is Invasion. In Invasion red team advances to control the blue team’s spawn. Red team players have 3 lives and blue team has a medic. The medic only has one life. But if you have an idea for game mode then tell me. Also to get an idea of the field you can watch this video from the end of September of last year: Full Send (Backyard Airsoft). Also please let me know your opinion on the field, because that’s the reason I made this post. But that’s all I’ve got to talk about so have a good day and goodbye.

The Basic Rules To Airsoft

Hello Airsofters I’m Nehemiah Varnell and I am going to be talking about the basic rules of Airsoft. So the rules to airsoft will vary based on the field you go to. But there are some basic rules that should be the same at each field and I’m going to explain them.

  1. Call Your Hits.

This is the number one rule in airsoft that will be at every field and it’s pretty simple. If you get hit by an airsoft BB then you raise your hand and yell “Hit!”. Then other rules vary based on the field you go to. For example sometimes ricochets count and other times they don’t. Also the same with friendly fire. Also sometimes you have to raise your hand until you respawn or get revived but sometimes you don’t. But I would recommend following all of these rules even if you don’t have to.

  1. Eye Protection Must Be Worn At All Times While On The Field

This rule is at most fields. Sometimes airsoft fields just require this during the airsoft games and other times they require it the whole time you are on the field. Also sometimes you have to have full seal eye protection and sometimes you have to cover your mouth and ears. I would recommend doing all of these but it’s up to you.

  1. Yell If You See Someone Without A Mask

Sometimes you yell ‘Cease Fire’ and sometimes you yell ‘Blind Man’. Either way you should alert everyone to stop shooting if someone doesn’t have a mask or eye protection.

  1. No Blind Fire

This means that you have to see where you are aiming to shoot. Never blind fire. It could result in overshooting or you might hit someone with their mask off.

  1. No Fighting (Or No Physical Contact)

Some fields you aren’t even allowed argue either. But please never fight or argue. It ruins others’ experience and you could get hurt. Also if you have a problem you should bring it up to a ref.

But the rules of different fields will always vary so you should always check your field’s rules before playing. But at least now you know the basic rules of airsoft. Always follow these rules and have fun, but make sure to do it safely.

The State of Insane Paintball/Airsoft As of Febuary 11th, 2023

Hello Airsofters I’m Nehemiah Varnell and I’m going to be talking about Insane Paintball/Airsoft (1833 McFarland Avenue, Rossville, GA 30741). So I‘ve only played at Insane Paintball/Airsoft twice. Once on January 15th, 2022 and that was at their indoor airsoft field and take it with a grain of salt because that was my first time playing airsoft, but it was epic. I absolutely loved the design of everything, even the entrance room and the briefing room. The waiting was also cool because you could see gameplay while you waited. I loved it. Also the map was a nice touch. But I do not like the new field.

Alright so take this with a grain of salt because I’ve only been there once but currently their airsoft field sucks. Their paintball field looks pretty cool except for one but I’ll touch on that later. I also like the touch of the gellyball and nerf field. But onto their airsoft field. But onto their airsoft field, it was more of an afterthought I think. Because they already had stuff for it because it is so poorly made. I mean for the center they just put a circle of cover and a well and there is no cover at all at the spawn points. The only bits of cover are some barrels and a wall then some spread out bits of cover. And I like this in the sense that it encourages movement but this means the team on the hill has no cover and has to rush down the hill to cover which could cause injuries, but I don’t know because I was never on that team. But of course the trees also provide a minimal amount of cover.

Alright now I’m going to move onto safety. With 3 of their fields there is no safety. Starting with their Hyperball field. This field has no net so that means paintball can hit the cars pulling in to play at the field. Luckily there is a net around the tables, gellyball and nerf field, and Xball field. But there is just yellow tape to mark the airsoft field, but it doesn’t go all the way around so the first game I played I actually went past the other teams spawn and onto the nearby paintball field in the woods. But I get it, nets are expensive and hard to put up but they will need them in the future. But there is also another thing I want to bring up, the paintball field looks like an airsoft field and because the road on the airsoft field goes into the paintball field it is very confusing. So I think they should combine that field and the airsoft field into one big field. But back to safety, because it is an outdoor field there is brush and roots so you need to clear them. So the Insane staff cleared the brush off the paintball field but not the airsoft field. So this means that it is hard to get kills, hard to move up, and easy to get hurt.

I also want to bring up their staff and their rental equipment. Their staff looks rough but they are amazing. They answer questions they’ll let go back on the field if you forgot stuff (which happened frequently) and they run the games very well. But the rental equipment is terrible, the masks look very rough but they still work fine but the guns, the guns look terrible. The barrel covers look homemade, the stocks on most of them are missing, and they have mags with duct tape and sometimes mismatched mags. But the mags are fine, most rental guns are like that. But the stocks are what I’m mostly talking about. Because I ran out of BBs in my gun so I borrowed one of my friend’s rental guns and rushed with it but when I put it up to my shoulder, there was just a buffer tube and no stock. But at least they feel okay enough when it comes to quality. But also I just want to mention that one gun I think is shooting too high because if you get shot by it across the map you’ll still have a welt. But I think someone just turned up the FPS and maybe forgot to turn it down or something or something else to do with HPA.

But overall I think the field has potential and I might give it another chance but as of February 11th, 2023 it was not the best it could be. But I hope Insane Paintball/Airsoft sees this and maybe listens to it. But I will say their store looks pretty cool so you should check it out if you like airsoft (6853 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN 37421). But I like Insane but could be better so I hope you weren’t offended by this but anyway goodbye.

The Field Layout of Airsoft Tactical

Hello Airsofters I am Nehemiah Varnell, if you’re reading this then you may be interested in going to Airsoft Tactical. Airsoft Tactical’s Address is 1420 Armour Dr, Chattanooga, TN 37412. It is a CQB indoor airsoft field and probably my favorite field I’ve ever been to. The field is medium sized and I think it is well designed.

As for the actual field, well it has an urban combat feel to the field. It has multiple buildings including a 2 story killhouse in the middle. It also has lot’s of vehicles and even a tank. It is also designed in a way that every bit of cover can be used by both teams. The teams are top and bottom team because of the two ramps in the middle of the field.

But onto the layout. From the bottom base looking out there is a building to the left and right. On the left side there is a ramp with crates going up to top base then on top base there are another 2 buildings and a flipped over truck, a water tower, top teams base, and a wall with a car crashed through it. Then heading back toward the bottom base there is a ramp with two highway dividers on the way down to an empty spot with only a crate. Then there is a hallway which has a door in the middle into the bank or at the end of the hallway there is a staircase that goes down a hallway to a jail and then back to the building at the bottom team’s base. Then the killhouse is in the middle with a courtyard on the top team’s base and one by the bottom team’s base. In the bottom courtyard there is a green car and some other stuff. The top one doesn’t really have anything except for a staircase and a doorway.    But I hope you have an idea of it now but to get a better idea you can watch one of my videos, like this one: My Camera Lens Broke At Airsoft Tactical. But I hope you wanna go play now. But that’s it so goodbye.
